Gary Leon, traditional name "Talekwitsen", is from the Sts'ailes (Chehalis) First Nation, B.C. He graduated from Kitanmaax Indian Art School (K'san) in Hazelton, B.C. in 1995. He enjoys working with mediums such as wood work to create masks, bentwood boxes, talking sticks and totem poles. Gary is currently teaching art and carving at Sts'ailes Community School, passing on some of his creative inspirations. Gary's designs come to him clearly; he seems to be tracing things that others cannot see.
